gina and tonic at atari

Before going on an extensive pintxos spree in San Sebastian, go to Atari, order a gin and tonic and a large plate (racione) of jamón ibérico. Start the evening properly.

Go back the next night because it was perhaps the best gin and tonic you ever had: served in an enormous glass with a more than generous amount of ice, with lemon peel and juniper berries, with Seagram’s gin … with a flourish by a good-looking bartender. You won’t regret it. And if there is no room at the bar, perch on the church steps opposite and play ‘guess where the tourist comes from’ as they wander past and look longingly at your glass.

  2. Couldn’t agree more. I’m still dreaming of jamon so good it tastes like butter washed down with the slightly sour yet sweet taste of the worlds best G&T. When are we meeting there next?
