spritz bar paris

This is how you know summer has begun. The deck chairs come out, the orange umbrellas go up. Italians all over Paris meet up the Buttes-Chaumont park for a pitcher of Spritz: a bitter cocktail made of bright Aperol, prosecco and a little sparkling water. Cool and refreshing on (hopefully) a hot day. If you go before 9pm, a glass is only 4 euros, a litre only 12. (Afterwards, it is 6/18 respectively.) They have beer, wine and other cocktails too, as well as antipasti. Their mozzarella with pesto tasted suspiciously like the richer. more creamy burrata, which was an upgrade I wasn’t going to complain about. Nab a deck chair or a cushion early in the evening and brush up on your Italian. Cin cin! Buon appetito!

(Check their Facebook for events, outdoor cinema, and DJs on certain evenings)

Spritz Tempo! (next to Pavilion du Lac) : inside the parc Buttes Chaumont; metro Laumière, line 5

open Thu-Sat 6-11pm (happy hour 6-9pm)

(The easiest way to find it: walk up the hill from metro Laumière. Enter the park from the big gates at place Armand Carrel. Turn right immediately and follow the path for a couple of minutes until you see the Pavillon du Lac with the Spritz bar and its orange deck chairs alongside.)
