“We made a guide to Paris! Basically it’s awesome if you’re hungry, bored, or hungry and bored and don’t know what to do.” – Florence
A Pocket Feast was originally a bunch of scribbles and drawings in a Moleskine notebook, because I had a friend visiting Paris when I was away, and I needed her to know where to find the best crepes, coffee, eclairs, Vietnamese food… Though it was born of control-freakery, the notebook was received as a thoughtful present, and passed around from friend to acquaintance. Now here it is, printed, glossy, colourful, still in helpfully pocket-sized format.” – Frances

Rather than a traditional guide to sights and museums, A Pocket Feast encourages you to structure your day around Paris’ rich culinary smorgasbord. From classic French food to Indian, Portuguese, we have a little of everything, and all at reasonable prices. Each double page spread includes something delicious to eat in Paris (left) and a cultural activity nearby (right):
As for the culture, we assume you can find the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre on your own. Did you know about the famous taxidermist, or the old state morgue that is now a cultural centre? (But it’s not all morbid! Hopefully a range of quirky and interesting.)
We aim to show a snapshot of real Parisian life, not for tourists. They are all places we visit over and over again, and quite frankly, were reluctant to share in case they became too popular. As well as the food/culture pages, we also have mini-sections on the perfect picnic, or the ideal apéritif.
You can flip through and choose at random, or use the index at the back to choose an arrondissement. Best of all, it really is tiny (10x14cm) and will fit in a back pocket.
